Honor roll-- shown below,A tribuite that was erected in many towns and cities during WW2 for the men and women that served from thier comunities. Names were listed for service and the killed in action.
As of this time there are no national memorials for WW2 veterans,there is one being built in Washington DC.
The service flag,an indoor flag,was first displayed facing out from the front windows of homes during World War 1 and World War 11. The flag is white with a red border and has one or more blue stars in the center. Each blue star on the flag represents a family member serving in the Armed Forces. the blue star is replaced with a gold star to represent a member killed or who died while serving during the war or hostilities.
Iwo Jima memorial- Located in Arlington National Cemetery .Assult lasted 36 days in Feb 1945. 26000 American casualities 6,800 dead.
27 Medals of Honor awarded to Marines and sailors,many posthumously.
The Korean War was a UN sanctioned military intervention in 1950 in which a US led force entered South Korea to stop an invasion by the army of communist North Korea. The conflict ended with a cease fire in 1953. A formal peace treaty was never signed and US forces still guard the border between the two countries.

The Vietnam Vetrans Memorial, with nearly 60,000 names engraved on its black granite wall is unlike any other. There are 140 black granite panels the wall was didicated in 1982.
Beirut memorial in Jacksonville NC This memorial is a tribuate to the 269 Marines and Sailors from Camp Lejeune who lost their lives in the barracks bombing in Beiruit Lebanon in 1983
